Today, Alice Honvault, manager of the Club de Blandonnet, is the first to step behind the curtain of our photo booth to tell us a little more about her career!
Alice has been one of the pillars of the Harmony team for many years. Today, she divides her time between managing the Club de Blandonnet and group marketing. We're delighted to open this major PhotoMaton series with her!
How and why did you get into the world of fitness?
Houla... quite by chance, because my background is in martial arts and combat sports. At university, I was a competitive French boxer and to stay in my weight category, I took out a Fitness membership...just to run on a mat. One thing led to another, and the gym manager said to me: "Come to a co' class, you'll see, you'll have a blast! " . And that was THE revelation! I loved it straight away: the energy, the atmosphere, the pleasure of moving to music.
What's your favorite exercise or physical activity at Harmony and why?
Yoga! It's a discipline that allows me to take care of my body as well as my mind, and the teachers have a rare quality of teaching.
If you could train with any professional athlete, who would you choose and why?
Certainly Serena Williams for her story, her mind and her philanthropic actions.
What's been your most memorable or rewarding moment since joining Harmony?
There are so many... if I had to choose just one, it would certainly be the last Super Saturday at La Praille. It marked the end of the pandemic, the return of members and life in the clubs, with all those people happy to gather around sport and celebration.
What aspect of fitness or wellness are you most passionate about and why?
Caring for people. Wherever they come from, whatever their motivations and needs.
If you had to describe your health and fitness philosophy in three words, what would they be?
Pleasure, sharing and caring. For me, pleasure is one of the keys to feeling good in mind and body. I'm keen to share all the benefits that sport can bring to people's lives. As someone who likes to take care of others, I think it's essential to be attentive, to listen and sometimes just to be present, which is an essential part of our job.
