This month, we honour Diana Nyad, the iconic marathon swimmer who defied age and the oceans by completing, at the age of 64, the mythical crossing from Cuba to Florida.
In 2013, at the age of 64, Diana Nyad achieved an incredible feat by swimming from Cuba to Florida, covering 177 kilometers. This was her fifth attempt, a testament to her extraordinary determination. The film Nyad tells her story and highlights her tenacity, with an exceptional Annette Bening as Diana and Jodie Foster as Bonnie Stoll, her coach and long-time friend.

Detox Soup: Comfort and lightness to get the year off to a good start!
After the festive season, it's time to get back into balance and enjoy yourself at the same time. This detox soup is ideal for eliminating excess and providing your body with the vitamins and minerals it needs to get back into shape quickly.
Winter is the ideal time to enjoy vegetables that boost our immune system and aid digestion. Carrots, celery, leeks and squash are rich in fiber and antioxidants, helping to purify the body while providing a lasting feeling of satiety.
A Source of Fiber to Balance Digestion
The vegetables in this soup are an excellent source of fiber, which helps maintain smooth digestion, regulate intestinal transit and prevent bloating. These fibers also contribute to a prolonged feeling of satiety, which is essential for avoiding post-holiday snacking.
Natural antioxidants to combat oxidative stress
The combination of brightly-colored vegetables (such as carrots and celery) provides an important supply of antioxidants, which protect cells and strengthen the immune system. They help eliminate toxins and revitalize the body, particularly after a festive period.
DETOX SOUP WITH SEASONAL VEGETABLES 🍲🌿
Ingredients:
🥕 1 butternut squash, diced
🥕 2 carrots, sliced
🌱 2 celery stalks, chopped
🧅 1 leek, finely chopped
🧄 2 garlic cloves, minced
🍶 1 liter vegetable stock
🌿 1 tbsp.c. turmeric
🌿 1 tsp. grated fresh ginger
🍈 1 tbsp. olive oil
🧂 Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation:
Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and sauté until soft. Add the carrots, celery, leek and butternut squash. Sauté for 5 minutes, then add the vegetable stock, turmeric, ginger, salt and pepper. Bring to the boil, reduce heat and simmer for 25-30 minutes, until vegetables are tender. Blend the soup until smooth and creamy. Serve hot for a light, detoxifying dish!
