EMPLOYEE PROFILE

Dylan, a coach for your well-being in Signy

Welcome to our "Portrait of the month" section! This month, we feature Dylan, a passionate sports coach who, for the past year, has been supporting members of the Harmony Signy club in their quest for fitness and well-being. Find out more about his background, his motivations and the challenges he faces on a daily basis.

How did you become a sports coach?
Sport has always played a central role in my life. After several years of intense weight training, I felt the need to share what this discipline had brought me, both physically and mentally. So I decided to take the plunge and turn my passion into a profession by obtaining my BPJEPS from the École Nationale de La Culture Physique. Since then, I've continued to train to stay at the top of my game and offer my students top-quality coaching.

What are your specialties?
I specialize in physical transformation, and I support my students in several areas:

Bodybuilding: whether to strengthen, sculpt or transform.
Weight loss: by combining specific training with nutritional advice.
Sports nutrition: to maximize results thanks to a global, personalized approach.

My aim is to create tailor-made programs, adapted to the unique needs and goals of each individual, from beginners to experienced athletes.

What qualities do you bring to coaching?
I'm often described as a good listener, motivator and adaptable. I like to take the time to understand each student, their objectives and motivations, to build up a truly personalized coaching program. I'm also very attentive to follow-up, as I believe this is one of the keys to effective progress.

What's your favorite part of your job?
Nothing is more gratifying than to see someone progress, overcome their limits and regain their self-confidence. Every success, no matter how small, is a great source of satisfaction. What I also really like is the friendly atmosphere of the Harmony clubs and the quality of the equipment, which enables us to work in the best possible conditions.

Do you have any personal projects or challenges?
Yes, I'm currently preparing for a marathon in 2025. It's a real challenge, because I want to find a balance between my cardio training for the marathon and my weight training. My aim is to maintain my muscle mass while developing my endurance. It's a demanding experience, but it pushes me to surpass myself and optimize each session.

Where and when can we find you?
I'm at the Harmony Signy club on the following dates:
Monday: mornings until 3.15pm
Wednesday: 2pm to 9pm
Thursday: 9am to 3pm
Friday: 3pm to 8pm
I'm also available one weekend a month for exclusive sessions.

Do you have a role model or source of inspiration?
My idol is Cristiano Ronaldo. His work ethic, discipline and determination are qualities I greatly admire. He shows that, far beyond natural talent, it's hard work and rigor that lead to excellence. He inspires me to always give my best.

Staying Motivated to Exercise in Winter: Our Tips

When winter sets in, it can be hard to stay motivated to exercise. Yet this season offers a great opportunity to take care of yourself. Here's how and why.

Why do you need to keep up your sporting activities in winter?

Sport in winter isn't just about performance, it's also about taking care of your health.
Regular physical activity boosts the immune system, which is particularly useful for resisting winter illnesses. It also acts as a natural remedy against fatigue and seasonal depression by stimulating the production of endorphins, the famous "feel-good" hormones.
Finally, keeping active helps to maintain a constant energy level and avoid the lethargy that winter can bring. By staying active, you're also preparing your body to welcome spring in top form.

Understanding fluctuations in motivation

Motivation is never linear, and it's important to recognize the natural stages it goes through.
When you start or resume sport, enthusiasm is often the order of the day. You discover new sensations, and rapid progress fuels the desire to keep going. However, as the weeks go by, a feeling of stagnation can set in. Results seem less visible, and the routine may seem less exciting. This phase is normal and crucial. It allows the body to adapt to the effort involved, to assimilate what has been learned and to recover. It's precisely at these moments that you need to hang in there and stay regular.
With perseverance, progress returns, often in even more satisfying ways. Understanding this cycle can help you to manage slumps in motivation more effectively and avoid giving up prematurely.

How to maintain an active routine despite the cold

To stay motivated throughout the winter, it's essential to adopt a realistic approach that's tailored to your needs.
Setting concrete, but achievable, goals is a great way to stay focused. Whether it's improving your endurance, preparing for a sporting event or simply maintaining a steady pace, having a clear goal gives you a direction to follow.
Variety is also an important key to avoiding monotony. Alternating between different types of activity, such as group classes, cardio or weight training, helps to keep enthusiasm intact.
What's more, making sport part of your daily routine by setting regular time slots, like a rendezvous with yourself, makes it easier to establish a lasting routine. Finally, sharing your activity with others can be an excellent way of motivating yourself. Training in a group or with a partner makes the effort more enjoyable, and offers invaluable moral support during moments of doubt.

Use winter as an opportunity to progress

Winter is not a time to slow down, but rather an opportunity to get stronger and progress at your own pace.
Every session is a step towards better health, stronger morale and increased confidence. At Harmony, we provide you with modern facilities and a variety of classes to support you all season long.
So don't let the cold hold you back. Make this winter a dynamic season full of sporting discoveries. Motivation may waver, but the benefits of an active winter are worth every effort! 💪❄️

Soft gingerbread: the must-try recipe for a gourmet Christmas

Rich in honey, delicately flavored with spices and as soft as you like, gingerbread is a Christmas must-have. Simple to make and deliciously indulgent, it can be served as an aperitif, a side dish or dessert.

WHAT TO USE TO ENHANCE YOUR GINGERBREAD FOR THE FESTIVE SEASON?

Gingerbread, with its rich flavors and spicy notes, is the perfect backdrop for gourmet combinations, especially sweet and savory. Here are a few ideas for incorporating it into your festive meals and delighting the taste buds of your loved ones.

As an aperitif

Foie gras or faux gras: Its softness and mellow texture ideally match the mellowness and character of foie gras or its vegetable alternative. Serve it toasted for a crunchy contrast.
Cheeses: Try it with roquefort, fresh goat's cheese or truffled brie. The sweet and savory flavors will work wonders.

À Table

Soups and veloutés: Add a few lightly toasted gingerbread cubes to a pumpkin, carrot or chestnut velouté for an original touch.
Festive dishes: Serve as a crumble on duck breast, or crumble into poultry stuffing for a sweet and spicy flavor.

Dessert

With fruit: Serve with poached pears, orange carpaccio with cinnamon, or apple compote for perfect harmony.
With cream: Serve with crème anglaise, chocolate mousse, or vanilla ice cream for a melting, comforting combination.
